Bending to Break by A. L. Hartwell details the life of Olivia, an English girl who lived in New York. She was a budding lawyer and tried to get through each day because dissatisfaction plagued her. Olivia’s clients were the wealthiest in society, guilty of one crime or the other. It was her job to get them off the hook, and she couldn’t take it anymore. But just when she was thinking of a getaway to London, someone kidnapped her. The problem began eight years before at the airport, where she did a good deed. She forgot, but he never did, and he is back to repay the “kindness.” Why has this person kidnapped her? Will she find her way out or be trapped forever?
Bending to Break by A. L. Hartwell is a sizzling novel that will appeal to lovers of dark romance tales. It’s an escapist story for anyone who loves to close their eyes and imagine being swept off their feet by brooding dark knights. Think alpha males, feisty heroines, obsession, intense passion, and adrenaline; you’ll find it all in this book. Hartwell spun a captivating and descriptive story that held me spellbound. I loved the character development and writing style, which was fluid and easy to follow. Olivia left a powerful impression on me because she refused to go down without a fight. I loved sweet Dante’s character while Luca left me with a cocktail of emotions. The book is fast-paced with a cliffhanger, bouncing me back to reality. Looking forward to more from this author.
