Ancient Egypt For Kids 50,000 BC to 653 BC by Rich Linville is a vivid journey through the periods of ancient Egypt. From accounts of the prehistoric people to Egypt’s conquest by the Babylonians, Linville shares how each pharaoh made their mark on Egypt and the importance of the things they learned along the way. There is even a page that has hieroglyphs that kids can use to easily write their name using the ancient Egyptian symbols. Although Egypt was eventually conquered by Babylon, the Egyptians started some of the most important things that we still use today. From trading and payment for work to written communication, the Egyptians steadily moved along a learning curve that set the pace for the civilized people they have now become.
I loved the amount of research and information Rich Linville put into this book. Every page is filled with information pertaining to specific time periods during the ancient Egyptian era that is interesting for anyone who likes to learn new things about world history. The pictures Linville selected give extra clarity to the facts found throughout the book. I absolutely love how the author honestly pointed out that historians do not all agree on specific facts and dates, even though the events are important to the subject matter. I recommend Ancient Egypt For Kids 50,000 BC to 653 BC to anyone who enjoys learning about ancient times and I look forward to seeing many more books like this one by Linville.
