Scarlet the dolphin and Hailey have teamed up and are ready for another adventure in the deep blue sea where Scarlet lives. This time, it is on the west coast, the Pacific Ocean, where their new adventure takes place. Scarlet takes her best friend Hailey to Pier 39 in San Francisco to meet her friend Callie who is a sea lion. Callie teaches Hailey about sea lions, and their habitat. Hailey and Scarlet the dolphin get a close view as they learn all about Callie’s world, and those of her friends. Hailey and Scarlet watch the other sea lions play, and they get a chance to play with Callie too.
Off on another exciting adventure, the curious dolphin Scarlet is always ready for fun and adventure with Hailey, her best human friend. Author Jennifer Wallis takes her readers on yet another water adventure in her book "Adventures with Scarlet the Dolphin: California Sea Lions". Her book is easy to read and comprehend. The book is very informative and isn’t bogged down with facts that might be too difficult for young readers. Her story has just the right amount of information and details to entice the reader to want to read more. The beautiful illustrations in her book help make the story of Scarlet, Callie and Hailey come alive. I live near the city of San Francisco, and have seen the sea lions in their natural habitat at Pier 39. Jennifer Wallis captures the true essence of the California sea lions in her book. I feel that children of all ages will enjoy this adventure with Scarlet and her friends, and will learn some interesting facts about sea lions as well.
