A Study Session with Christ by Jerome McNeary asks us as average Christians, "How is your relationship with God?" While many would shrug, and say, "Just fine, thank you very much..." Jerome wants you to go deeper in your understanding of your relationship with Him and how He is present in your everyday life. Not just that, but how what you are doing every day, which may seem boring and benign, can actually apply to your relationship with God and bring you closer to Him or place you at odds with His will. This book is meant to foster and strengthen faith, and I believe that Jerome hits his mark beautifully and in a way that is gentle, while being persuasive, convincing, and honest.
First of all, Jerome McNeary certainly has an eye for attractive covers. They say don't judge a book by one, but I have to admit that was one of the things that drew me to this book in the first place. The attractive yet simple imagery reflects the content greatly. A Study Session with Christ is honest, open, and very certainly Christian. I would say that to be interested in this book, you should probably already be a Christian, one who is looking to further their relationship with God. For those looking for their own religion or who are just curious about God, this may be a little heavy handed on the religious side of things and light on the explanations. A great book for the devotional Christian.
