Michael O'Keefe's 13 Stories: Fractured, Twisted, & Put Away Wet is a collection of interesting short stories about various subjects that are sure to keep the reader entertained. A young man determined to get his degree while working a job that makes others cringe in fear of him. A young man who finds a not so healthy, downward spiral as he deals with the opinions of his father and the woman he loves. A prankster grandfather who tells his grandson that he can send his tooth to the moon instead of leaving it for the tooth fairy. Detectives that work together, go their separate ways in the department and discuss the few things they regret and so much more.
Michael O'Keefe's 13 Stories: Fractured, Twisted, & Put Away Wet is an anthology of short stories that each have their own well-rounded plot. I love that O’Keefe has so many characters with a wide variety of personalities that fit smoothly into every tale. Each story is fast-paced and contains plenty of action. From a young man discussing the ways of the world with a dead poet to a young man making his way as the muscle of a mob-type organization and the story of a young man who suffered abuse at the hands of his father then found new ways to inflict that pain on others. The collection keeps the reader fascinated from beginning to end, knowing the next story will be as unique and interesting as the previous one. I recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys reading short stories that seek to frighten, enlighten or thrill the reader. I hope that O’Keefe has many more in store for future editions.
