101 Ways to clean Out the Clutter by Emilie Barnes promotes the idea that less is better. She stresses the philosophy I have lived by for several years, put it in its place; if you do not use it lose it, and make a list for everything. I have always called it “simplified lifestyle.”

Barnes explains the tools you may need, file cabinets, baskets, bins, etc. She also encourages you to work in 5 minute increments. When you work fast, you do not have time to reconsider what you are getting rid of. Clutter promotes stress and chaos. Organization promotes a peace and calmness.

Each page of 101 Ways to clean Out the Clutter is another step down the road of decluttering your office, home, and life. My favorite suggestion had to do with “Unfinished Business.” We always seem to have unfinished projects. This is a pet peeve of mine, and also a bad habit of mine. Barnes has included scripture, but she does not preach at the reader. She offers shopping and cleaning tips that are invaluable. Emilie Barnes has used a practical and logical way of offering help to those who need it. Now if she would just come clean my house… Her methods are time tested and realistic. I like this book and intend to incorporate some of her suggestions into my home and business.
