If you want a light novel that will entertain, Zoey RN, and the ER Apocalypse is the right book for you! Alexandrea Christianson creates a fun story that sees Zoey, an ER nurse, hunt down demons and stop the apocalypse in her spare time. As Zoey battles with long queues of patients during busy nights at the ER, demons cause havoc in the plumbing. Armed with syringes of holy water and prayer, she tries to send them back before they cause too much damage. But she’s not alone. Carl, a reaper, is at hand to send souls to their afterlife, but is he any help to Zoey? Angel Gabriel and the lord of hell, Lucifer, both interrupt her life but do either of them help? Does Zoey have anyone on her side?
I love the illustrations and the quotes at the start of the chapters. The quotes are well chosen and especially hilarious. I love the links to Florence Nightingale, Joan of Arc, and other historical events. It ties in nicely with the religious history of the novel and gives it a good background. Zoey RN, and the ER Apocalypse entertained me with interesting ER patients and thrilling demon-hunting scenes. The traditional fight between heaven and hell is fun to read in a modern context. Alexandrea Christianson creates a plot that keeps the action up and the story interesting. I love the creativity of the holy water syringes! I wonder where Zoey will find herself next.
