You're Still Not Doing This?! 25 Well-Established Ways to Elevate Your Health, Happiness, and Overall Awesomeness by Bryan Andrew Moore is a simple yet substantial guide to improve the quality of your life. Illustrated by Jen Aranyi, most of the tips are no doubt familiar, but definitely essential to be reminded of, such as rewiring your brain to increase positivity in your life, aka ‘Be Hearty’. This is actually the first tip that resonated with me because it’s definitely something that I should do more often. Planning and to-do lists are tip number three, another well-known, efficient and proven way to better our daily lives. If I may be so bold, it’s a lifestyle for most people.
Be outdoors and enjoy nature, volunteer, exercise, meditate and many more. So why read about things that you already know? Because “this book is here to remind you about them”- this statement is enough to justify its purpose. You're Still Not Doing This?! is uncomplicated, succinct, funny, and vividly illustrated. Personally, I consider it a kind of aide-memoire type of self-help book. It’s also honest about how some people need a different approach when it comes to several tips. The absence of long, tedious and deeply analyzing narrative that bogs down some self-help books out there won’t be found here. In fact, the way these well-established life tips are explained, it is as if I read about them for the first time. Kudos to both Moore and Aranyi for creating a fun, highly readable life empowerment guide.
