Morganne, Amara, and Fae are triplets who are worried about their ailing mother. Following their cat deep into the woods, the girls set out to look for some witch hazel which had healing properties that only worked with the waning moon. Being the last phase of the waning moon, the triplets knew that they only had one night left to find what they needed. They are captured by a group of men who are witch hunters. Thinking that the triplets are sinister brides of evil, they kidnap the girls and head towards the town where the girls will be burned at the stake. The hunters were greedy men who only wanted the money that they would receive for bringing them in. The sisters are running out of time and need to think fast, not just to save themselves, but to get back to their mother to save her as well.

I thought Witch Hearts was a likable and interesting read. The three sisters are easily relatable in their own way. Each girl has a distinct personality and the way that they view the world. The story is quick-paced and jam-packed with action which keeps readers on their toes. The book has an old fairy tale feel to it with the three girls who could possibly be magical and not even know it until their lives are threatened. I definitely would recommend this book to others. Angharad Thompson Rees has done a wonderful job of telling this tale of magic and sisterhood and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
