Winter’s Warrior by Scarlett Scott is Book 13 in The Wicked Winters historical romance series. Caro Sutton found a man beaten and left for dead near her family’s gaming hell. It was set up so that the Suttons would be blamed. She took him in and cleaned him up before realizing that he was Gavin Winter, a prizefighter. His family was at constant war with the Suttons, and having him in her home spelled trouble. However, when Gavin woke up with his memory wiped clean, she kept his identity from him on the order of her brother, Jasper. She’d fallen in love with the enemy and was torn between loyalty to her family and honesty with her heartthrob. Who tried to kill Gavin? Will he ever regain his memory? Is another war looming between the Winters and Suttons?
Winter’s Warrior by Scarlett Scott is a beautiful story with a strong plot and an interesting storyline. The heart wants what it wants, regardless of our realities. Love, sacrifice, deception, and greed were some themes explored in this novel. Scarlett is a profound storyteller for her ability to create engaging content that is both standalone and continuous. The writing style was simple, and the word usage was era-appropriate. Character development was perfect, and Jasper was my most favorite. He had a tough persona but was smart, gave tough love, and was the sweetest person. I also loved the Winter brothers because of their bond. I’m eager to know more about Logan’s situation, just like the Suttons. I really enjoyed this book.
