Winter Butterflies by Kenzie Janzen is a well penned story of the author who takes readers through her personal journey of miscarriages and surrogacy. The book is a heart wrenching account of the disappointments and pain the author faces, her resilience to rise above the shortcomings, and her faith and the healing process that helps her change her perspective. The inner turmoil she has shared with readers strikes a chord and her candid expressions make the story a worthy read. The book is inspirational and motivational, and encourages everyone to rise above the pain and sorrow life hurls at them.
What makes the book endearing is its honesty. Though the story speaks about the pain and grief the author experiences, the author's strength, courage and faith is remarkable. The author's relationship with God during these trying times in her life and her questioning God when things go wrong is relatable. Every small detail relating to her miscarriage and gestational surrogacy is shared in the book, making it descriptive and informative too. There is a lot of sadness in the book, but what shines through is hope and faith, and finally the healing which occurs through God.
'Loving God is sometimes not easy. Understanding God is impossible, but He will provide a rainbow after the storm ... in his time.' This concluding line from the book sums up the author's relationship with God, and His unconditional love and power to transform things in anyone's life.
