Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2 is a sizzling romance novel written by Anna Durand. Calli Douglas wasn’t interested in romance. She had three rules that she lived by: no sex, no love, no marriage, and she wasn’t ashamed of the fact that she was, at the age of 25, still a virgin. Calli’s life had gotten very serious very quickly when her parents died and left her and her brother with a ton of debt and a mortgaged house. Her betrayed trust in a college friend, who offered to help her with those financial entanglements in exchange for her help with a green card, had left her feeling like a criminal and made her determined not to fall for any man -- no matter how sexy or appealing. Calli had only grabbed onto that very hot and hunky man in a kilt because she had promised her cousin, and best friend, Tara, that she would find the errant stripper who was late for Tara’s bachelorette party, and send him on. Dance Ardor was the last place on earth Calli would willingly find herself in, were it not for Tara. She would get Kilt Boy to where those girls were waiting for him, and then she’d find a quiet place to wait out the event. But Aidan was not the stripper Tara had ordered, and something about him made every resolution Calli had ever lived by seem impossible to keep.
Anna Durand’s sizzling romance novel, Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2, is a compelling and well-written tale about second chances at romance. Watching the clueless Scot, who thinks his brother has the perfect recipe for bringing home an American wife, as he proves irresistible to the young woman who’s had it with romance and just wants to live in the woods with her two puppies, is grand entertainment. Durand has the gift for writing steamy hot prose that’s authentic and in good taste, and the reader can’t help but keep their fingers crossed as Calli and Aidan work to find a way to resolve their issues. While this is book two in Durand’s Hot Scots series, Wicked in a Kilt works quite well as a standalone novel. That said, I’ve also read and reviewed Dangerous in a Kilt and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2 is most highly recommended.
