On their return to the present, they are initially overjoyed to discover their mission created positive ripples in their present timeline but as they begin to notice subtle anomalies in their daily affairs they realize that everything may not be as normal as it appears. Their time jump may have saved the future but it has almost certainly doomed their present. Rustam's crew faces a dilemma of seismic proportions in Ray LeCara Jr.'s science fiction novel. The storyline focuses on the side effects of time travel complete with its potentially mind-blowing possibilities. It combines the excitement of youthful adventure with the technical specifics that the author brings together to form the basic components of this story. The conversations between the characters are clear and straightforward so it is easy to understand the origin of the tension building up between the members of the team. The depiction of Sam's difficulty adjusting to the new dispensation at home and its effects on his leadership abilities make for some interesting reading and Valerie's vindictive outbursts make you suspect there is treachery afoot. When Worlds Collide takes the subtle detail behind scientific puzzles like Schrodinger's cat and the space-time continuum theory to create an exciting, fast-paced novel that science fiction genre purists will love.
