When We All Wear A Mask is an illustrated children's book, written in rhyme by Reesa Shayne and illustrated by Mehwish Aslam. With so many changes since Coronavirus entered our world, it is often very difficult for children and adults alike to understand the benefits of wearing a mask when outdoors. Sometimes people get angry and feel like it is a punishment to wear a mask, but in this easy-to-understand book, the reader learns, in simple language, how wearing a mask not only protects them but also everyone around them.
As a Coronavirus survivor, I give a standing ovation to the message within the pages of When We All Wear A Mask. Reesa Shayne's book is written in very user-friendly language that is not in any way threatening. I believe that all readers, regardless of their age, could benefit from the knowledge that the mask is not something that will harm them or make them look silly. People everywhere have invisible illnesses which the eye cannot see, and when we realize that we are helping not to spread any of our own germs, as well as not catching the germs of those around us, we are helping to solve the problem as a whole. It could be the difference between living and dying.
When We All Wear A Mask carries a very meaningful and important message to readers of all ages: the only way to beat the pandemic is to keep ourselves safe and also to protect those around us. I fully applaud the message in When We All Wear A Mask and wholeheartedly recommend it to young readers aged 4-12, as well as to older readers who do not seem to understand the reasons why masks are so important during the pandemic.
