When I Grow Up: I Want To Be a Lawyer! by Lois R Beasley-Carlisle is an inspirational picture book for children. A young girl is having a hard time deciding what she wants to be when she grows up. She ponders becoming a doctor, a veterinarian, and even a firefighter! But each job comes with its pitfalls, such as the job being scary or clashing with one of her dislikes. The girl racks her brains until finally, she finds the job she feels most suited to. She begins her studies and achieves her dream of becoming a lawyer. This book will help inspire children to think about what they would like to do when they grow up. It will show the positives and the negatives, allowing them to fully understand what each job entails.
When I Grow Up! was an enjoyable read. Children will love and learn from this incredible book by the talented Lois R Beasley-Carlisle. She has described the different jobs perfectly, along with some of their pros and cons. Children will not only benefit from reading this, but they will also have a great time along the way. The illustrations are professional and left uncolored so the reader may color the images themselves, and children will love this aspect of the book! I loved every page Lois has written, and I enjoyed getting to know more about her and her journey to becoming a lawyer. Great work, Lois, I hope to see more of your work soon!
