When Fall Fades is a suspense romance novel written by Amy Leigh Simpson. Charlie is the elderly next door neighbor and friend of Sadie Carson. He is a veteran, a conspiracy nut and a sweet old man. When Sadie finds Charlie dead one morning as she is finishing her run, she cannot believe it. Archer Hayes is the FBI agent who is in charge of investigating Charlie’s death to determine if it was an accident or a crime. Sadie, as the girl next door, knows things that can help in the case and becomes Archie’s sidekick. As clues begin to appear, Sadie faces more and more danger to her life, and Archie becomes more and more determined to keep her out of harm’s way. Both Sadie and Archie have had sad pasts and have blocked themselves off from ever finding love again. However, the more they work together, the more they are attracted to each other. The twists, turns and romance continue until the very exciting and surprising ending.
When Fall Fades is a story of suspense and murder, but also of love and romance. Sadie Carson and Archer Hayes fall in love as they search for clues and face danger in looking for Charlie’s killer. I really enjoyed reading When Fall Fades; it has all the elements of a great mystery and an even better romantic sideline. I found myself entangled in their story and rooting for them on every page. It was impossible not to like both Sadie and Archie and want them to find true happiness. I highly recommend reading When Fall Fades and look forward to reading many more books by Amy Leigh Simpson.
