Verses of Life, of Love, of God by Timothy J. Perior is a collection of poems which are a mixture of poignant and inspirational. Most of the poems are directed towards Christians, but I feel they can be enjoyed by anyone. The poems I particularly enjoyed were Tonight, Lovers All and Whose Son? I believe different poems would speak to different people, and the author has clearly lived a varied and eventful life.
There is quite a mix of poems here and a few seem quite dark. Some include specific places such as New York, Texas and Alabama. I think this book may only attract certain buyers as opposed to being more universal to readers, although it's clear the writer has put a lot of work into it. He can paint a vivid picture with only a few lines of verse. The themes are clearly what is life about and the role that God plays in our lives.
Timothy J. Perior includes one hundred and forty-nine poems in Verses of Life, of Love, of God, and each poem is relatively short. I feel this would make a great gift for a poetry lover as something they could read each day. In terms of marketability, the title may put some people off as they may feel it is only aimed at Christians. I think this is a shame as poems such as Starlight is the Heart and I've Seen can be enjoyed by everyone. Overall, I enjoyed most of the poetry and the general themes in each one.
