Chartreuse Grenoble has grown up as an object to be used in the brothel run by her mother and Monroe, a ruthless man who has taken the virtue of so many girls for his own pleasure. She and her sister, Chalmette, have lived a dark life, and they have been trapped for so long. When they finally get the chance to leave that life behind, they take it without looking back and end up in the home of Lord Dalcour Marchand, a prominent vampire. Dalcour wants to turn Chartreuse into a vampire, but along the way, she falls in love with Sebastian, and their relationship becomes one of love and loss. Chartreuse must come to terms with her fate while remembering the strength and power that will be hers once her transformation is complete. Untamed by L.C. Son is a solid paranormal story with great historical elements!
Paranormal fiction is a genre that I enjoy and find very underrated in many circles. I love a good vampire story, and Untamed had me intrigued! I loved the plot and the introduction of many fun characters. There was so much happening in the story, and there was never a moment when I found myself bored. Chartreuse was a little too much for me at times, but she did grow on me. The ending did feel a bit rushed and confusing, but I did appreciate the revenge Chartreuse was able to take. Overall though, Untamed was a good and beautifully written story. L.C. Son has an elegant way with words, and I found the writing to be one of my favorite elements of Untamed. For paranormal lovers, I would recommend checking this story out!
