I loved the stories in C. Jai Ferry’s Unraveled. The book is made up of twenty-six short stories which cover a variety of topics. All of the stories in this book are entertaining. I love to read short stories. It is not often that I like all of the stories in a book, but in Unraveled, it happened. Of course there were some stories I liked more than others. "Salvation” was my ultimate favorite. It left a lasting smile on my face. The other stories in the book made me experience a wide variety of emotions. “Lynn’s Best Day”, for which C. Jai Ferry has won an award, had me cheering for the main character. “Law and Order and Dominion” had me laughing.
Some of the stories like “Refuge from the Storm”, “Hunger”, “Winter” and “Miss Jenkins” made me think about life. I thought “In the Cards” would make an excellent movie. There were a couple stories that left me shocked. Those were “Shaken Martinis” and “Control”. This is the first of C. Jai Ferry’s work I have read. She has gained a new fan in me. Overall, I really liked this book! If you are a fan of short stories, then this is the book you should be reading. I will definitely be reading more of C. Jai Ferry’s work in the future.
