Unleveled Ground begins with one of my favorite scriptures, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. Relationships, you cannot live with them; you cannot live without them. A relationship that is based on Godly principles, where both humans have an intimate walk with God, is a satisfying relationship. The information in this book applies to all relationships-- not just marriage. My favorite chapter is number four. Clifford Washington discusses the relationships within a church. From personal experience, I know there are troubled relationships in churches. Most of my relationships are formed there, including my relationship with my husband. Gossip and criticism can literally destroy another human and can destroy a congregation.
I am impressed with Unleveled Ground. Clifford Washington uses a simple, easy-to-understand format. He offers sound advice on what a good relationship looks like. He acknowledges that we need to communicate with God through prayer, praise, and worship Him, and He will guidance us in all things, including our relationships. I will be sharing Unleveled Ground with my pastor and other leaders of my church.
