Twin Tails of Mason Beach (The Twin Tails Series Volume 1) by CILLYart is a fascinating modern day story laced with fantasy and adventure. Mateo and Marnie Perez are walking on the beach one day when they discover a giant conch with two sleeping baby girls in it. They decide to keep the babies till the authorities can find their parents, and soon they find out that these two babies are unique and magical and must be kept safe. By the time the kids are four, they move with their parents to Phoenix, Arizona. Will their secret be discovered? Will the twins be safer in Phoenix?
The concept is unique and the story of mermaids finding their way and living with normal people in today's world is indeed very fascinating and interesting. The story also has a good message of how to help others if we are blessed with unique gifts, and to use them wisely. The story also shows the girls bonding with their parents and how they support the girls in their learning, development, and service to others. The black and white illustrations are eye-catching and they breathe life into the characters and the story.
It's a good bedtime storybook for kids and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The message conveyed through the story is uplifting and the story also captures the essence of family bonding and support. Readers will be looking forward to the next volume to see where the twins, Marina and Perla, will take them.
