Brett and Gabby were enjoying their married life until it came crashing to a halt. He rode a bull, fell, and became paralyzed with brain damage. Gabby loved him to bits and took up his care. She was wasting away until her ex-fiance, Richard, showed up. He was the Texas state US senator and the potential governor, courtesy of Gabby’s dad. Richard was determined to win back Gabby’s heart but soon found that he had to compete with Stan, her stepmother’s son. While Stan had all the love to give, Richard came with love and a sprinkle of arrogance. It was a dilemma for Gabby, though in truth her heart still yearned for her husband. Can any of these men mend her broken heart? Find out in True Love Knot: Entangled – A Caregiver’s Story by DonnaLee Overly.
True Love Knot by DonnaLee Overly is a beautiful novel with a heartbreaking story. It had a brilliant plot and emotional storyline that told the story of caregivers who are also spouses to the disabled. It is a tough time when all the senses are sharp and dull at the same time. And then there’s the test of resilience, faith, hope, and knowing when to let go. I felt Gabby’s grief, anger, heartbreak, and moments of weakness. She was a powerful woman. DonnaLee told a touching story and did such a masterful job with character development so that it all felt so real. I developed a huge respect for Wayne and felt his helplessness when super dad couldn’t fix that one thing. The dialogues were smooth and continuity was effortless. Thank you, DonnaLee, for a great book. Please write more.
