Health reports tell us that the presence of too much stress in our lives is killing us; on the other hand, stress can serve to motivate and make us perform at our best. Susanne Sweeny looks at how stress can be used properly to help us reach our full potential in Transform Stress Into Strength. Understanding the role that stress plays in our life is an important part of learning how to manage it. Susanne does an excellent job of defining the different aspects of stress and how they relate to both positive and negative aspects of our lives. She offers several evaluations for helping us to locate the stressors in our lives and then provides very practical solutions with not only objectives but ways of planning in order to meet those objectives. She also helps the reader to understand themselves and the purpose for their life in order to gain more control and create a roadmap for a more long-term solution. By creating a plan and a realistic timeline, we can bite off small chunks toward our goals and dreams rather than feel pressed to achieve everything in our lives immediately. With a more rational approach to where we are going, we can transform stress not only into strength, but into a fulfilling life.
Susanne Sweeny gives some much needed and very practical guidance to getting a handle on your stress in Transform Stress Into Strength. Using the overwhelming circumstances of her own life and personal experience of being able to get control over her own stress, Susanne connects with the reader where they are rather than trying to be the golden guru who never has a problem with stress. She does a great job of helping the reader to a self examination of their own stress-causing issues and relationships, and challenges the reader to redirect their stress by starving the bad and feeding the good. Practical, easy to follow and insightful, Transform Stress Into Strength has the potential to eliminate the harmful aspects of stress from our lives and allow more of the euphoric elements to take over.
