Author Biography

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Heidi Richardson later married a farmer and left the city life. Now tucked away on a farm northwest of Calgary, Heidi loves to tell stories, but she often says, “If there is a bright center to the publishing universe, I’m on the planet it’s furthest from!” (Apologies to George Lucas and Star Wars fans!)

Through the decades, technology changed from laborious pen and paper to today’s swift computers. Now she writes fictional fantasies for young readers, where her creative dreams weave with biblical truths to create allegorical visions. She took the plunge and self-published with Kindle Direct Publishing!

Heidi’s invitation to all her readers is, “Come dream with me.”

For more of Heidi’s published creations, see the Tower of the Deep fantasy series which includes three books: The Prisoner and the Traitor, The Winged Warrior, and soon to come, Beginning and the End. This series is recommended for kids 10-18, but anyone is welcome to read it!

The Starkhons, led by General Tai Kanow, invaded the bunji territory and planned to take over. He was fiercely loyal to the emperor and obeyed every command to the last letter. However, capturing the bunjis was an uphill task. The natives were as slippery as eels. Luck shone on them one day, and they caught a bunji, but he would never give up his tribe. The General recruited his teenage daughter, Hennelyn, to interrogate the captive, but there was a problem. She was a mix of Starkhon warrior and the peaceful Luinian race of her mother. In defiance of her father, Hennelyn must make a drastic decision. Will she succeed? Can she stomach the consequences? Find out in Tower of the Deep Vol 1: The Prisoner and the Traitor by H. M. Richardson.

When good and evil inhabit a body, what side wins? Tower of the Deep Vol 1: The Prisoner and the Traitor by H. M. Richardson was a captivating novel that explored loyalty, love, and morality. It was indeed thought-provoking. I loved the excellent plot and unique storyline. The story was realistic, and people whose kin are in powerful positions can relate to it. When a person is so powerful that their decisions affect others, how do we step in as their kin? At what point do we shed familial loyalty for moral uprightness, even to theirs and our detriment? I was never short of questions as I read this novel. The character development and writing style were perfect, and I must commend the flawless editing. I enjoyed Nik’s innocent yet witty personality. What will Arcmas do when he wakes up? I want more!
