Too Much Of A Good Thing: A Kid's Guide To Understanding Addiction (Staying Awesome!) (Volume 1) by Tracy Bryan is an educational book on both physical and psychological addictions, and how getting too comfortable with anything is not good for the brain or body. The author calls for moderation in everything one does so that they do not get too addicted to anything in life. This book discusses what moderation and addiction mean, and how they can be prevented before they change into something obsessive and unhealthy. The positives and negatives of addiction and substance abuse can be understood and are explained well to kids through this book.
I found the book very useful and informative for young readers. The author handles a relevant topic with skill and in a manner so that children will understand it clearly. The pictures are an add-on to what the author is trying to convey and express. It is a good book to read out in classrooms during interactive sessions where the topic of too much of anything good is covered. The book is also helpful in looking into oneself and transforming oneself.
The tips and techniques to gain control over unhealthy behavior before it gets out of hand are very helpful and easy to put into practice. The book makes one observant of one's habits and behavior and how they can be detrimental if one is obsessed with them. It is a good book to have in one's personal collection as it can be used for reference.
