Tinanjali: The Great Cosmic Lotus Dream by Susheel Kamotra is a deep, thoughtful exposition of consciousness, self-awareness, and the philosophical relationship between spirituality and science. Told through the life of two participants, Tinu and Anjali, it explores their lives and the truths they discovered about themselves and life in general. Tinu, a successful engineer and project manager in Malaysia, has spent much of his life looking for the ultimate meaning of existence and understanding how we fit into this great cosmos we live in. Through the lens of time, Tinu can judge the tragedies and joys that have filled his life and come to an understanding of the purpose of each individual and how he or she fits into the eternal passage of history. In essence, Tinu begins to understand the elusive “theory of everything.” By exploring ancient Hindu texts and philosophies and seamlessly melding them into current cosmological and quantum thought, he can produce a New Theory of Consciousness which he seeks to bring to the world by developing and sharing a program of study designed to open everyone’s minds and insight into their true consciousness. The MezbahnSRP program aims to combine science with philosophy to achieve peace, freedom, and enduring happiness.
As someone who has spent much of the past few years reading and understanding various viewpoints on the purpose of life, eternal happiness, and awareness, I found Tinanjali to be a wonderful addition to my knowledge on these subjects. Susheel Kamotra correctly points out that most of the great philosophical thought and discussion that has influenced mankind, religion, and life practices for the past 5,000 years originally came from the Vedic ritualism and writings in the Indian subcontinent. I found the two characters that took us on this journey of discovery to be appealing and fascinating. I appreciated that Tinu had faced major hardships and tragedy at many points on his journey through life. I could certainly identify with his always seeming to be “one point” short of achieving. Whilst I will admit that some of the scientific and technical concepts went right over my head, I did grasp the most important elements presented and understood the key element was and always will be awareness. The SRP program does look fascinating and I will be looking into this in greater depth soon. What this book does highlight for me is the depth and truth of early Indian philosophy that we, in the West, have tended to disregard over the centuries. It is worth remembering that the wisdom brought to us through the Vedic teachings forms the basis of virtually every religion on the planet. There is power in these teachings. I loved this beautifully presented book and can highly recommend it to anyone seeking a new or enlightened path.
