Thus Fell Tecumseh by Frank E. Kuron is about a famous Native American, a Shawnee Chief, known as Tecumseh. He fought in the Battle of the Thames in 1813. This book goes into more details of that battle, who fought against him, and why there is such a mystery as to who really killed him. You learn about why the battle was fought and the hardships they endured. Frank E. Kuron shows original letters that were written by soldiers and their families to get more of an idea of who Tecumseh really was. It is not your average history book that you read in school.
I thought that Thus Fell Tecumseh by Frank E. Kuron was a fascinating read. I liked that the author explained the letters in his preface, as they were written before the use of periods. He does an amazing job of being descriptive; in fact, if bloody scenes make you woozy, you may not want to read this. I loved that Frank E. Kuron used unique photos to help explain things. I liked his use of the chapter notes at the end to help find things. What I really loved was that he only shared facts, he was not biased in any way. He wanted you to see if you could figure out what was fact and what was fiction, as some of the “stories” could be a bit hard to believe. If you love history, studying about war, or are fascinated by the Native American culture, then this is definitely a must-read. It is not like the history books we read in school.
