All the animals lived in peace and harmony in the forest, and their days were spent playing games and collecting food. One day a loud noise shook the ground, and the bunny and the squirrel felt a big monster had moved in. The word spread quickly, and life in the forest changed. The animals started living in fear. The animals wanted to move to a place where there was no monster, and the monster wanted to move to a place without any scary creatures. The monster went to drink water and got scared seeing his reflection in the water. He raced through the forest, and his cry of 'Monster, Monster!' echoed along with the booming sound of Thud, Thud! All the animals were scared and were piled together. On top of them was the huge monster, shedding tears, and the animals stared at the weeping monster. They all became friends and the animals were not scared when they heard the Thud! Thud! sound; they knew it was their new monster friend.
Thud! Thud! (Special Monsters Collection) by Diana Aleksandrova is an adorable story about friendship and accepting differences, and will bring a smile to the faces of young readers. Svilen Dimitrov makes the story captivating and colorful to readers with wonderful illustrations that give a good pace and movement to the story and also breathe life into the characters. The story comes with interesting twists and turns that make it a good tale for children. It is a relevant story that will help children understand how anything different does not always have to be a monster. The book is good for storytelling and read-aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries because of the message it conveys.
