The Trouble With Daydreaming is written and illustrated by J.R. Kopenski. Kilter, the brave puppy who was also a knight, battled against foes across the land. On this particular journey, he met Tolliper, and the battle ensued. Kilter fought gallantly against his enemy. He even rescues Tolliper when he lands in the river, as only noble knights would do. The sound of a familiar voice startles him out of his adventurous daydream. Kilter quickly discovers that Tolliper and the river he had rescued him from were not exactly what they had seemed. Who had snapped Kilter out of his daydream? Who is Tolliper? Would Kilter be in trouble for behaving so bravely and defeating the evil Tolliper? What are the consequences of his daydreaming?

The Trouble With Daydreaming is an adorable tale about a puppy with a wild imagination who daydreams about being a brave knight. The characters are unique individuals that will keep kids giggling as they read. The illustrations, also by J.R. Kopenski, are beautiful and match the story, and will keep the imagination of the reader flowing. I absolutely loved the story dynamic that highlights the effects of daydreaming on the dreamer and shows that being understanding in certain situations is much better than being angry. I recommend The Trouble With Daydreaming to small children who are ready to begin their journey in learning to read, as well as those who enjoy an adventurous story that is entertaining and fun. I look forward to reading more stories like this one from this talented author and artist.
