The Treasure of Conquistador Haven is an action-packed adventure novel written by Bruce Miles. A university research team recruits television reporter Derek Gandalf Caine and his videographer Joel Swingman for an expedition into the remote wilderness of Arkansas' Ouachita National Forest. However, unbeknownst to them, three treasure hunters seek the lost Spanish treasure of Hernando de Soto in the same vicinity. To make matters worse, a couple of illegal marijuana growers roam the area. While the expedition team deals with an injury to one of their own, the treasure hunters find themselves in a dangerous standoff with the teenage marijuana smugglers. As if battling wild boars, snakes, and fire-ants wasn't enough, Derek and an accompanying forest ranger find themselves trapped amidst the ensuing gunfight between the treasure hunters and the marijuana growers.
Filled with action, suspense, and some relevant social commentary, The Treasure of Conquistador Haven is a blast to read.
