The Total Light is an interesting collection of poems by Edda Tassi. The author elaborates on the complexities of love and how it affects the opposite sex in different ways. The ghosts of the city pass through a young woman as she reflects on the past, present, and future. Death and love are entwined, as well as the dark and light surrounding Earth. These are significant because they set the mood or state of mind of lovers and friends. Children playing innocently are unaware of what their futures hold. Nature knows when to adapt and close its doors when the seasons changes. Life goes on and time never stands still for anyone.
The Total Light by Edda Tassi is a set of eighty poems that also includes an Italian translation. These original free verses are written in first person and express the author’s opinion on life and how it connects to the cycle of light. The love interest in one of the poems is likened to a deck of cards and is one of my favourites. Each poem’s reflective words have a natural flow, making me assume Edda Tassi penned them as soon as the thoughts appeared. The Total Light is a book that will make interesting discussion as persons who like poetry may have diverse interpretations when reading it. The cover photo shows a person deep in thought, which is exactly what readers will find themselves doing while reading this book. The author has written a nice poetry collection.
