The Teaching Today Series books 1, 2 & 3 by Selena Watts is the combination of three complementary teaching guides for new teachers and experienced ones. Indeed both are bound to learn a lot from these three volumes including “Teaching Yourself to Teach”, “Teaching Online”, and “Creating Online Courses”. They are comprehensive (close to 500 pages), highly interesting, and fun to peruse. They can be read in any order. All you need to do is pick and choose the part you most need. I have already made notes and learned a lot from this collection and I have been teaching for twenty-three years.
The Teaching Today Series books 1, 2 & 3 by Selena Watts is an absolute keeper. As a teacher trainer, university didactics teacher, and regular high school teacher, this collection could not escape my attention. These kinds of books come in all shapes and styles but these were just perfect. They allow new teachers to benefit from Selena Watts’ experience and expertise. They also help more experienced teachers to learn strategies to make amazing online courses in an era of hybrid or fully online teaching. They are simple to use, enjoyable and knowledgeable. I loved that Selena shares her own experience, her questions, and her fears (when she started teaching). To conclude, I wish all to become “the best teacher you can be” and to appreciate this wealth of advice, tips, information, and support. Thank you so much for such an effective and practical guide. I will treasure it and recommend it to my trainees and students. This series is a gem.
