With a few simple tricks and techniques your child can speak at an early age. The Sweet’s are often asked how their children learn to speak affluently at an early age. They have graciously written The Talking Baby in an effort to share their secrets.
Their suggestions include: Children thrive in a happy home. When you read to your children make it exciting. Vary your tone of voice, make faces and strange noises. Make animal sounds. Exaggerate the sound and smile. We all like to be praised and so does your child. Work on vowels, syllables, sounds and words.
I was struck by the discussion of grandparents. Children love to visit their grandparents because grandparents are not afraid to act goofy. I find myself crawling on the floor playing peek a boo with one of our grandchildren. He reacts to it by giggling and playing right along. Too often the influence of grandparents is over looked.
The Talking Baby is a small book, well bound, with an easy to wipe off cover. The illustrations are cute. The advice is invaluable. This will make a nice gift for new parents.
