An unspeakable evil has taken over the land of Tomiro and the once idyllic life of the elves has been destroyed by Rau, the puppet of the vengeful god Haulua in The Sword of Lumina: Mira's View by Erin Elliott. The goddess Mira has spoken of a chosen elf who will save the world, and young Galena secretly hopes that she is the one. Her ability to use magic makes her quite unique and she is of the bloodline of the King of elves, but there is so little hope left that no one believes salvation is possible. That is especially true when creatures controlled by Rau begin to hunt and kill elves as Rau looks for the source of the elfin power. Galena, her boyfriend Elenio, and brother, Tark, set off on a quest to find help from the goddess Mira and receive support from surprising sources. The question is, though, whether they will be able to reach Mira’s View before the torlics overtake them and destroy any hope for the land of Tomiro and its peaceable elves.
Erin Elliot has created a fantastic world with elves and all sorts of special creatures in The Sword of Lumina: Mira's View. A young elf woman is thrust into adulthood and, along with Elenio and Tark, faces the growing evil that is trying to destroy the world. The action is exciting and the imaginative setting and characters provide plenty of interest. Written in a style that is easy to read, The Sword of Lumina: Mira's View is a great story that sets the stage for the following volumes.
