Author Donna Partow explains early on that, according to scripture, God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. Sometimes, due to the loss, rejection, maltreatment, or other wrongs that have been done to us, we are not living the blessed life God has for us. Partow makes it clear that The Special Blessings Prayer is about more than asking God for the things we want, and takes you on a path to better understanding forgiveness, pain, trauma, love, and blessing others. Using 1 Samuel chapter 1 as a study guide, The Special Blessings Prayer is an incredible resource for letting go of past hurt and receiving the blessed life God has for us.
Donna Partow has provided an incredible devotional that is spirit-led and scripture-guided in The Special Blessings Prayer. It is a growing epidemic in our world for people to be hurt and betrayed by past relationships. Partow helps illustrate how the Word teaches that God can change hearts, heal hurts, and better manage conflict and disappointment in the future. I found The Special Blessings Prayer to be particularly useful for a home study, although it would be equally as powerful in a small group or teaching setting. Donna Partow makes it apparent that she not only is educated on the principles and steps taught in this 12-step devotional, but she has lived and can testify to the effectiveness of the Special Blessings Prayer. A powerful message!
