Shani T. Night is a self-proclaimed freelance author who has been writing on and off for the love of writing for over 13 years. Born in Washington DC, Shani now lives in Maryland with her husband and three children.
Since childhood, the author has expressed an artistic side which she would eventually share with others. Whether it was in the form of performing arts or visual arts, she has always explored and expressed her imaginary gift of thoughts, and emotions while simply just being herself; at the same time not having her light dimmed.

The Six Horse is a children’s animal adventure story written by Shani T. Night with photography by Canva. Shani is a six-year-old who lives on a farm with her parents and brother. She has a favorite horse, the six horse, who she helps her dad take care of and train for the big family race. Shani is involved in making sure he eats the right foods, has his gear in proper order, and goes through his morning workouts properly -- and she always makes the effort to communicate with him. She can read and understand his facial gestures, ear movements, and the grunts, groans, and other noises he makes. When he winked at her on the morning of the big family race, she knew he was telling her that he would win first place that day. Would he be the big winner? Her brother thinks his horse, the five horse, will be in first place, but Shani and the six horse think they have it covered.
Shani T Night’s The Six Horse introduces young readers to the workings of a horse ranch as described by the six-year-old narrator. I loved the way the author shares the details of what owning a horse involves, including nutrition, training, and establishing a connection between humans and horses. The excitement of the big family race is palpable and real, and the marvelous photos included add to the “you are there” feeling that pervades this most impressive story for children and preteens. Anyone who loves animals, no matter their age group, will no doubt enjoy this informative and fun book as much as I did. The Six Horse is most highly recommended.
