The Shape of Stars Unknown is a work of fiction in the fantasy, adventure, interpersonal drama, and paranormal sub-genres, and was penned by author Sybil Le Pyrmont. Written as the opening novel to the Aldarfall Saga series, this work does contain themes suitable only for mature audiences, such as the use of explicit language and the presence of graphic violence and sexual scenes. Set on Earth, this slick urban story begins with a typical white-collar worker, Silver Laing, who stumbles upon an otherworldly paranormal revelation. Teaming up with the exiled demigod Lau seems dangerous enough, but there are far more terrifying things waiting on the horizon.
Author Sybil Le Pyrmont has crafted a fantastic and engrossing fantasy novel that perfectly balances a sophisticated and well-considered paranormal plot with all of the all-out action, atmosphere, and emotional punch that you would expect from the genre. The best way to describe this work is elevated, from every nuanced detail of the growing threat to the way that Silver and Lau relate to one another and emote through expressive dialogue and vividly described actions. Le Pyrmont has an ethereal and engaging spirit that overlays the prose, sprinkling it with atmosphere at every opportunity. This results in a lavishly told tale that contains romance, adventure, action, and supernatural drama by the ton. Overall, I would highly recommend The Shape of Stars Unknown to fans of accomplished and immersive adult fantasy novels. A promising start to an exciting new series.
