The Poetry Project: Job by Angela Williams is a poetic narration of the book of Job from the Bible. The book begins with Satan challenging Job's faithfulness to God, which he attributes to the blessings given to him. Trusting in Job’s loyalty, God allows Satan to do whatever he wants to Job, but not take his life. Job loses everything and goes through trials that make him wish for death. He is accused of being a fraud and feels betrayed and forsaken, but after reflecting on his life, Job decides to trust in God’s plan and love for him. Job’s story is a beautiful example of the Christian journey, which requires endurance and faith. Angela Williams' modern retelling of the story is spectacular and makes it more relatable. I loved reading her first book in this collection, The Poetry Project: Genesis, and I must confess she does not disappoint. Her rhythmic words and biblical and historical knowledge are a trademark that makes these books informative and memorable. The lessons about staying blameless and righteous in all situations, not concentrating on earthly gains and praise, and not judging your fellow man, are encouraging and life-changing. Apart from the poems, The Poetry Project: Job also contains powerful prayers you can use in your daily life. Remember, just as the phoenix rises from the ashes, or the rainbow comes after the storm, God will vindicate you and make you stronger after a trial. I highly recommend this author and her work, and I hope more people read this book and are encouraged to continue trusting in God’s will and plan for their lives.

For those who are familiar with the story of Job this may be helpful in getting insights you may not have previously had. For those who are not familiar with the story, this is a wonderful introduction to the characters, story-line, and drama, as well as the themes of friendship, suffering, philosophy, theology, darkness, hope, and revelation (amongst many others). It reads like an epoch poem and the rhythm seemed to help me understand Job's tragedy and his friends' attempts at friendship from angles I had previously missed. Overall, the writer hits a homerun -- her artistic delivery touches the heart, opens the mind, and helps us be more aware of the Spirit's moving.

I had the pleasure of diving into "The Poetry Project: Job," and it's a literary gem that deserves all the stars in the galaxy! This book combines the beauty of poetry with the profound wisdom of the Bible, creating a truly unique and captivating reading experience.

As someone who appreciates poetry and has a deep curiosity for the scriptures, this book was a perfect match for me. The author's mission to retell the more challenging portions of the Bible in rhythmic form is a resounding success. The poetic retelling of the Book of Job breathes new life into this ancient text, making it not only accessible but enjoyable for readers of all backgrounds.

What sets this book apart is its place in the larger series. The author's commitment to tackling the harder-to-read and understand portions of the Bible is commendable. With "The Poetry Project," anyone can grasp the profound messages and timeless truths hidden within these sacred texts. The God of the Old Testament is masterfully presented as the same God of love, compassion, and grace that we encounter in the New Testament.

The bonus section of "Praying Through Job" is an added delight, offering a deeper layer of reflection and spiritual connection. It's evident that the author poured their heart and soul into this project, creating a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant work.

This book is a well-written page-turner that engages the mind and stirs the soul. The blend of poetry and Biblical wisdom is both creative and highly imaginative. It's an exceptional resource for both poetry enthusiasts and those seeking a deeper understanding of the Bible. The inspirational quotes and insightful examples throughout the book add to its value.

In summary, "The Poetry Project: Job" is a masterpiece that seamlessly weaves poetry and spirituality, making the Bible's wisdom accessible to all. It's a heartfelt and beautifully illustrated journey that should find a place on every bookshelf. I look forward to exploring the other books in this series and encourage everyone, regardless of their background, to embark on this enlightening and spiritually enriching literary adventure. Bravo to the author for creating a modern-day classic!

Beautiful scripture in poetry :)

Poetry isn't usually my first choice, but I really enjoyed this book and the way it made me think about Job's story in a different light. Very well done!

This book of Christian themed poetry was clearly a labor of love to assemble. It follows the book of Job and interprets the word of God into a sort of poetic rhythm. In that regard the sing-song nature of the prose feels nice. It also made me drowsy. Not necessarily a bad thing. Outside of that there are just a few things that could be better, specifically the internal and external presentation. The cover could use something a bit more lively and the interior could be jazzed up a touch. Overall though, it's a very unique book.

This is a beautiful retelling of the book of Job in a new format of poetry. You took on of the most difficult books in the bible and brought it to life. I can't wait to check out the other books in the series and I am so glad I started with this one.

This book was exactly as described - Scripture in poetry form. I thought it was a unique and beautiful way to express the words of the Old Testament. I love poetry and found this much easier to digest than reading the Old Testament directly.

I truly enjoyed this book. This book reimagines challenging Bible passages in poetic form, making Scripture more accessible. It aims to reveal the consistency of God's character across the Old and New Testaments. The book is part of a series, and it includes a bonus section on "Praying Through Job." Enjoy exploring this unique approach to understanding the Bible.
