The Photographer's Quick Guide to Earning Money From Your Photos is a how-to manual written by Kim Lambert. Lambert has been taking photographs since she was young and has been involved in the photographic field as a professional. Her aim in this guide is to show her readers how to get started earning money from their photographs. Lambert starts at the beginning and offers tips on taking the kinds of shots that people will want to buy. She discusses the equipment you'll need, including the software for corrections and, most important, the capacities of the camera you'll be using. Then she presents the different opportunities a photographer has for selling her photos, from hanging them up in a gallery to posting them on one of the many stock photo links Lambert provides. Lambert provides examples of her photographs to illustrate many of the principles and practices she recommends. She also gives informative descriptions of the other photography books she offers in this series, which seem geared towards more intensive study.
I've sold my photographs at craft fairs and farmer's markets, and I was intrigued when I saw Kim Lambert's photography book, The Photographer's Quick Guide to Earning Money From Your Photos. While I was aware that there were stock photo companies, I couldn't see how my work could get noticed in the crowd of photographs out there. Lambert helped me get a feel for how to get going. I had always sold tourist-related photography and wasn't really clued in as to how to expand my work. Her suggestions make good sense, and the links and ideas she includes in The Photographer's Quick Guide are very helpful indeed. Lambert's enthusiasm and love for photography makes this book even more dynamic. It's a great reference tool for those who'd like to make their dreams of selling their photographs a reality.
