The Marrying Type by Laura Chapman is a tale of love lost and gained. Elliot Lynch works for her mother’s wedding business, Engagements. She knows exactly how to plan the most sought after weddings in Charleston, South Carolina, and is in demand. With her mother gone and her father about to retire, Elliot decides to familiarize herself with all the paperwork, only to find that the business is very close to bankruptcy. To pay the bills and make ends meet, she decides to take up the offer of appearing on a reality show called “The Marrying Type,” meaning she has to be filmed while planning and arranging weddings. However, the paycheck that comes with it is worth the loss of privacy. Elliott is asked to plan a society wedding, only to find that it's for the sister of the man who got away. Faced with seeing him again, Elliott doesn’t know where to turn. Add in an alcoholic bridesmaid, an assistant who does little, and a rival company, and Elliot has her hands full. Can she save her company or is it all for nothing?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Marrying Type by Laura Chapman. It caught me on page one and hooked me. It is one of those books that I just couldn’t put down, partly because there was something happening on every page and partly because it was so well written. There are lots of characters in the story and each one is very well developed, to the extent that I felt I knew them personally by the end of the book. Each one fitted nicely into the story and came together to create a cast that was made for the story. I thought the story line was very well thought out and it flowed naturally, with no hiccups and no dead ends. Excellent story; I will definitely be looking for more by Laura Chapman.
