The Map to Abundance by Boni Lonnsburry is a beautifully designed book whose aim is to help readers live a more abundant life. However, abundance, in this case, is not only meant in a financial way: it is about a general abundance that includes money, love, happiness, and more. You might immediately think: Oh no, not another The Secret copycat! Have you tried The Secret and failed again and again? Then you might not regret buying this book because it explains the mistakes people usually make. It encourages people to take responsibility for their own actions, but at the same time it also shows that we have little to no control over certain aspects of life - and that you need to learn to work with those facts. No Secret can change the laws of the world and the universe.
I picked up The Map to Abundance by Boni Lonnsburry because the cover spoke to me. I just loved the design and thought that I might give it a try to see whether the content could live up to the beauty of the cover. It actually did so, in this case, judging a book by its cover was the right decision and shows how important it is that authors actually DO put a little bit of effort into design choices - readers are often very visual beings. I enjoyed the way the book was written. It wasn't cold and unfriendly, but also not silly like many other self help books. It also wasn't dripping with false promises and hope. It is an honest book and, to be clear, you can't just read it and expect miracles to happen. It's a book that you need to work with, take your time with.
The book has a strong focus on tangible abundance (as other books soon to be released will focus on other aspects of life), but there's nothing wrong with that. We all need financial security, a home, and money to buy food. You will learn to change your attitude towards money, and step by step create your own personal map to abundance. I can't yet tell whether it'll work, but it felt quite good to work through the chapters, and it made a lot of sense to me. Give it a try! It's also fun to read, so you won't waste your time.
