Seemingly by accident, Brad Mahon embraced and learned from opportunities at a young age, leading him to spend twenty-five years in higher education and accept a position as a college president. He wrote Leadership Is Personal to show how community connections and fostering a positive business culture can lead to success. Mahon highlights his triumphs and failures and offers readers the opportunity to reflect on the text, learn from his experiences, and grow with the knowledge he imparts. In three parts, readers will explore self-leadership, external community, and internal culture, while understanding how to make effective partnerships, invest in people, and motivate through communication. The book includes Mahon's experiences, highlighting a particular topic or points, a review of the core messages, and reflection questions to foster internal choices.

Brad Mahon understands that many people aren't trained for leadership but have the power within them to be truly effective. Even though Mahon is in the educational field, his work relates to any business and his ideas are applicable. He approached education as a product and marketed it to create the best benefit for his students, staff, and the community. Mahon's book will give you practical strategies you can implement right away for noticeable results. You may have to explore more than one position or angle, but Mahon's advice will help you improve while remaining authentic. One of the most valuable lessons I learned was how to lead by example, and I started with the vision for my business. The rest seemed to flow seamlessly as I absorbed the chapters and applied the author's words. I feel much more confident about my ability to spearhead my business after reading Leadership Is Personal.
