The Mansion's Twins (At the Crossworlds Book 1) by Rose Channing takes us into a stunning world of magic that has been terribly harmed by a storm. Homes were leveled, families left reeling and torn apart, and even good magic twisted by the darkness. Wounds like that don't heal quickly and even years later the world is left damaged and a dangerous place. There is only one way things might heal and that is from the magic of twins, but it is very rare that twins are born in this land. Meanwhile, in our world, Ellie and Savannah know nothing of the magical world and nothing about one another until they are brought together and told about their true origins.
This is a book of magic and relationships and that is what truly makes it enjoyable. Rose Channing has created a world of wonder and enjoyment that anyone can enjoy. This may be a YA fantasy, but as an adult I enjoyed every minute of it. Ellie and Savannah spent their lives feeling alone in the world, until they were finally brought together in the mansion where they can have a real bond. Beyond that, of course, there is a whole world of magic to savor and play in as well. I have read many YA fantasy books with magic, but not since the big Harry Potter series have I found myself so drawn into a magical book. This is the first book, but it certainly opens the door to the series to come. I am looking forward to digging into them. I was riveted to the pages of this book from cover to cover.
