Cheryl Rush Cowperthwait's debut novel, The Legend of the Dragon Child, sets this series in motion. Book Two of the series, The Legend: Revealed continues the story with many of the same characters while introducing new worlds and characters to bring you on an exciting adventure.
She has completed Book Three of the series, which is titled, Zelspar and The Magicians, which is a wonderful combination of myths, magic and Dragons, It is scheduled for release in the early part of 2019

Currently she is at work on two more fantasy books. One is geared towards the young adult while the other is for the young or young at heart featuring a fiesty fairy who is destined to capture the heart.

The Legend: Revealed is a work of fantasy fiction written for children by author Cheryl Rush Cowperthwait. It forms the second book in the Legend of the Dragon Child series after the novel which gives the series its name. In book one, Kaida discovered her destiny as the Dragon Child due to her prominent mark and the legend which surrounds it. Now, in book two, Kaida’s tenuous links to the people of Urthe and the dragon society have her caught in the crossfire of two worlds which don’t understand one another. She is the link between them, the path to peace, but her dragon family fears that she will face too many dangers on the road to fulfilling her purpose.
It’s wonderful to see a talented author bringing remnants of classic fantasy into modern children’s fiction, for example the traditional names of the Dragons and the quest-style plot of the novel as a whole. Cheryl Rush Cowperthwait really knows how to write cleanly to convey the story to her middle grade audience, whilst at the same time giving a solid world and lore that has its own logic, as well as vivid details that make Kaida and her two worlds leap off the page for readers. I believe this is a book that both adults and children can enjoy together, a solid and exciting mid-point to a series which promises much more beyond it. I’d highly recommend The Legend: Revealed as a perfect starter novel (and series) to get your youngsters into the fantasy genre.
