We live surrounded by holes. Things we may take for granted, like doorways and windows, are really holes in our walls. They let us go from room to room or go outdoors. If we open a window we can let the breeze come in. A small hole in our wall might be a doorway to a mouse house. And even though it’s filled with glass, the peephole in our door so we can see our visitors was once a hole. Even more exciting holes are outdoors. They can lead to caves where bats and bears live. Or maybe provide a home for a bird. The Hole Story written by Lori Croy and illustrated by Katelynn Hoefelman explores many different types of holes both indoors and out.

Rabbits and ants dig holes to make their homes. And sometimes holes are just for fun, like the hole in a donut. A lovely educational story for kids.
