In The Happiness Hunt, written and illustrated by Casandra Sculthorpe, several animals wake up each day to search for their own personal happiness. Would an elephant enjoy long, loud days or a day that’s peaceful and breezy? What about twin monkeys? Would they relax in the grass or get into all sorts of mischief? Turtles might have different ideas of what their happy place is, too. Will the search slow them down, or will they be in a hurry? Would giraffes get lonely with their heads so high, or can they find happiness no matter their height? Each individual has their own ideas of what happiness looks and feels like. What makes you happy on a daily basis?
The Happiness Hunt is a beautiful story that shows how important it is to find happiness every day. The characters are fun-loving animals in search of the beauty the day has to offer, and everyone has a different opinion on what peace and joy are. The illustrations are fun and clever, and they will keep kids laughing as they enjoy the story that complements the beautiful pictures. I recommend The Happiness Hunt to young children who love to learn something new while reading and those who love stories featuring animals. This story will keep kids entertained and flipping pages. I hope that Casandra Sculthorpe has many more tales like this one that will keep kids interested in reading for years to come. I can't wait to see what she will come up with next.
