A coming of age story about a tenth grader named Tommy Baher, aka Johnathan’s younger brother, aka Johnathan’s less intelligent and less impressive brother. Tommy has made it his ultimate goal to get out from under his brother’s shadow by any means necessary. And then there is Kara Metaxes, Tommy’s arch enemy. The smartest girl in the tenth grade. And although he’s in constant competition with her, the day he ruined her life ... he really hadn’t meant to. Oh, did I mention that was the same day he fell in love with her? Can Tommy fix the mistake he’s made? Will Kara forgive him? Does he ever really get away from being “Johnathan’s younger brother?” Find out the answers to these questions and more when you read The Girl of All My Memes by C.S. Johnson.
C.S. Johnson is a witty and talented writer. The Girl of All My Memes had me laughing from start to finish. Tommy's constant competitiveness was quite amusing. I almost felt sorry for the poor guy. And the funniest part was that it didn’t seem as if the rest of his world took life as seriously as he did. Even though this story is intended for the young adult/teen crowd, it’s a brilliant read for any age. It’s a light-hearted tale, but doesn’t fail to bring a valuable lesson to the surface - just how much cyber-bullying can hurt others, even if it is unintentional. Once again, C.S. Johnson does not fail to impress. Splendid story by an awesome author. This read is highly recommended!
