The Fricken Map is Upside Down: Notes from a Spiritual Journey by Carrie Triffet is a book for anyone who wants guidance on their spiritual journey. Author Carrie Triffet shares her experiences as she tried to find the right path to explore spirituality. From the devastating ups and downs of her past to the extensive search for a promising future, her spiritual journey had the most incredible impact on her. On her journey, she learns that the things that make the most difference are accepting yourself, your past wrongs, forgiving yourself and forgiving everyone else too. She shares her meditation practices, how she formed a connection with Christ and how it brought peace to her mind, body, and soul. This book is about soul-searching, of finding out the best in you and using it to get the best in life.
The author makes the book very open and personal; it is like having a conversation with a friend you are meeting after a long time. Reading about her journey was very soothing; she has a way with words that not only makes it enjoyable but very calming at the same time. The meditation exercises are actually very relaxing and to know that she practices them as well makes them even more effective in my opinion. Her spiritual journey is very fascinating. I enjoyed how she took a chance, she took a risk and it paid off, and she knew she should be thankful to God for providing her with the opportunity. Her story is very encouraging; it sings with hope and inner peace. This book is perfect for people who are on a similar journey or those whose souls are hurting and want some comfort. A very solid book, one that inspired me and comforted me at the same time.
