Michael J. McCann is back with the third book from the 'Stainer- Donaghue crime novel series' with "The Fregoli Delusion". What happens when a young man with a rare disorder is the only witness to the murder of a multi- millionaire? In the midst of political pressure, continuous media scrutiny and an allegedly unreliable witness in tow, the Glendale PD has to nail the murderer in the shortest time possible. Power plays and untold secrets in the mix only go on to prove that a lot more than just money is at stake.
With barely a dull moment, this book is sure to keep you perched at the edge of your seat. As I read on I turned into a detective myself; riding on the twists and turns trying to solve this mystery along with Karen Stainer and Hank Donaghue, the fiery duo from the Glendale PD. After ‘Blood Passage’ and ‘Marcie’s Murder’ these sleuths have come together once again to combine their forces, keen senses and intellect to solve this high-profile homicide case. Michael McCann keeps a tight grip on the plot until the last page, not allowing it to stray or ramble. The book is crisply written and the author not only maintains the suspense but also the fast-paced momentum right to the end.
In a style that’s swift and contemporary along with well-etched out characters and a dash of humor thrown in, this book is one thrilling ride.
