The Farm Shop, written by Devon Avery and illustrated by Ema Tepic, is a charming children’s picture book full of cheerful sights, sounds, and critters! The Farm Shop begins with young Kirelle and her (BKF) best kitty friend, Sam, going for a stroll. And right from the start, this clever kitty cat knows just what to say when the two of them stumble upon a red barn with the sign that reads ‘Farm Shop’. And that’s where the fun begins. After lots of joyful gift-buying and animated, lively conversation, Kirelle finds herself in one doozy of a peculiar position--one that has her asking her heart the question of what truly means the most. Come join the fun as Kirelle, Sam, and the Farm Shop critters take you on one purrrrfectly-cooool, amusing adventure!
I greatly enjoyed reading The Farm Shop by Devon Avery. I found it to be an adorably sweet, witty, educational read, perfect for anyone (even though it’s written for children). The story itself is entertaining, well-written, thought-provoking, and downright FUN! Each vibrant illustration created by Ema Tepic is as cute as the last and added to an already delightful tale. This book would be a great addition to any classroom or school library for so many reasons and kids are sure to learn quite a bit with the vocabulary variation, animal sounds, and lovely concept. My favorite of all? The zesty, zany, vocal characters within the pages that one simply can’t help but fall head-over-heels in love with. I highly recommend The Farm Shop by Devon Avery. Well done.
